About the submission:
This waltz was written 2 years ago when I was living in a farmhouse outside of town and it sat inside of a blue binder of music sketches until I recently decided to look through it to see if there was anything I would want to develop for an upcoming music project.

When I saw that you were putting this compilation together, this one piece had been resonating with me more than the others. I was going through a rough series of nights and thinking about how to further step outside myself. I want the people I care about to be comfortable and to feel supported. To me this means I have to sometimes look at the parts of myself I might not want to see, and shed an ugly shell of habitual, reflexive behavior that is easy to slip into.

It is an intentionally short piece. Hopefully it will come across in the kind of brief way that a deer can cross your path on a hike and bring a little something into your own journey.
