Recorded in Portland, OR in my living room, January 2nd, 2017 - the rhythm of the track is from a field recording made October 2016 in Annecy, FR - it is from a parade of huge bells.

Life is a mystery in an even more mysterious universe. We tend to take this mystery for granted - that we know it, can predict it, are in control of it. Yet, we suffer with such grandiosity and distraction that we can barely hear our own breath or heart beat. Eclipsed, within the shape of a massive lunar shadow, there may be a moment of listening, and a recognition of the satellites spinning, sending a message to earth - "vibrate, yourself. we - the entire cosmos - await your awakening."

I highly recommend the version of this song to be found on Sun Ra's LP "The Solar Myth Approach Volume 1" which is utterly soft and deeply transformative. I give thanks to Sun Ra and the other artists of color that have made my creative and spiritual life possible, my debt is immense.
